DALLAS – Feb. 26, 2019 – SymphonyAI, the leading global provider of Artificial Intelligence-enabled decision platforms, solutions and customer-centric insights that drive validated growth for retailers and CPG manufacturers, today announced that Patrick Buellet and Raphaël Bertholet, Chief Strategy Officer and Vice President of Research and Development respectively for the company’s supply chain solutions, have been named to Supply and Demand Chain Executive’s 2019 list of Pros to Know. This is the second consecutive year that Buellet has been named a Pro to Know. The recognition, along with the rapid pace of artificial intelligence-based innovation, reflects the company’s position as a leading solution provider for high-volume retailers.

The Pros to Know Awards recognize supply chain executives, and manufacturing and non-manufacturing enterprises, that are leading initiatives to help prepare supply chains for the significant challenges of today’s business climate. This year’s list includes Provider Pros to Know – individuals from software firms and service providers, consultancies or academia, who helped their supply chain clients or the supply chain community at large prepare to meet these challenges—and Practitioner Pros, who do the same within their own companies. Supply and Demand Chain Executive received more than 500 entries for the 2019 Pros to Know Awards.

“Our Pros to Know listing showcases the leaders and innovators shaping the profession and making substantial impact on their companies,” says John Yuva, Editor for Supply and Demand Chain Executive. “This year’s recipients embody the commitment to transformative supply chain tools and processes, earning these individuals a rightful place in this year’s Pros to Know listing.”

Patrick Buellet, Chief Strategy Officer, Supply Chain Solutions

Buellet has more than 30 years of experience leading supply chain strategy, research and development for companies across Europe. In his role as CSO, he oversees supply chain technology development and ensures that innovations align with SymphonyAI’s overall strategy. He plays an integral role in helping SymphonyAI innovate rapidly to drive faster, better supply chain decisions for high volume retailers through AI, machine learning and voice technologies.

“I’m honored to again be included in this distinguished list, and to lead SymphonyAI’s supply chain software strategy,” said Buellet. “Although fast and accurate forecasting and fulfillment are more critical than ever to satisfying customer needs, a SymphonyAI study last year found that 48% of retailers rate their forecasting technology as average to very poor due to a lack of connected systems. We are committed to changing this by providing industry-leading, AI-enabled supply chain insights, optimization and execution systems for retailers, and we’re proud to see our efforts recognized by Supply and Demand Chain Executive through this annual award.”

Raphaël Bertholet, Vice President of Research and Development, Supply Chain Solutions

Bertholet manages the research, design, development and delivery of supply chain management and optimization products for SymphonyAI. He oversees a supply chain portfolio covering solutions for inventory management, replenishment planning, order fulfillment, demand forecasting, warehouse operations, and more. Bertholet ensures these solutions work together in real time to remove latencies in the supply chain, enforce data quality and offer an end-to-end view of the supply chain.

“It is a great distinction to be named a Pro to Know, and I’m passionate about the work SymphonyAI is doing in this space to improve supply chain efficiency,” said Bertholet. “The supply chain is one of the greatest levers for competitive advantage to gain market share, yet retailers often face many challenges adjusting to emerging consumer behaviors and competitor strategies. To build an adaptable and optimized supply chain, retailers require solutions that allow for accurate demand forecasting and execution, which we’re achieving through the power of AI and machine learning.”

Demonstrated improvement in forecasting accuracy

In 2018, SymphonyAI launched an artificial intelligence-based demand forecasting solution that is autonomous and self-adapting to the evolution of contextual business information, such as weather, events, trends, holidays and the impact of recently introduced items. Early tests have indicated that retailers could achieve more than 50% improvement in forecasting accuracy versus their existing legacy systems and approaches. In one early example, a leading grocer was able to reduce a 20% demand forecast error rate to just more than 5% after deploying SR Demand Forecasting.
