Symphony EYC, the leading provider of software and services for retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers, and The Partnering Group (TPG), a global consultancy that assists leading retail and consumer products companies in accelerating growth, today announced a partnership that will focus on delivering an automated joint business planning (JBP) workbench that increases the efficiency and effectiveness of retailers and their suppliers. The joint TPG and EYC JBP Workbench simulates JBP process consulting and best practices and integrates them with the Symphony EYC customer-centric retailing (CCR) platform to deliver strategic insights and actionable results.
A collaborative corporate-to-corporate planning process that creates a shared plan and sets target objectives to drive multi-functional initiatives for growth and productivity, JBP has long been a manual and time-consuming process. As a result, retailers have been limited in the number of JBP plans that they can complete with their suppliers. The new TPG/EYC JBP Workbench automates and digitizes the JBP process with structure and workflows that enable retailers to expand the range and scope of their JBP practices, increasing overall operational efficiency and stimulating business growth.
TPG is known within the retail industry for its domain expertise and best practice development (JBP best practices); practical and executable solutions, analytic frameworks and insights generation, which altogether drive retailer and manufacturer collaboration. EYC is recognized for its customer centric retail platform, which includes category insights, supplier collaboration solutions, reporting dashboards and analytic toolsets, merchandising decision software, and customer-centric or shopper solutions expertise.
The partnership combines the strengths of these two retail industry leaders to deliver a joint TPG/EYC JPB Workbench that includes:
- Company-to-company strategy,
- Category business planning,
- Value chain optimization,
- Retail excellence,
- Shopper marketing
- Manufacturer/retailer PandL accounting.
“The Symphony EYC partnership with TPG enables us to create a closed-loop, end-to-end JBP process that feeds into the Symphony EYC CCR platform for real world execution and is a key element of our Symphony Retail Cloud solutions,” said Pallab Chatterjee, Chairman of Symphony EYC. “Our new joint JBP Workbench offering will enable retailers to create repeatable processes around their supplier relationships that will generate strategic insights and actions.”
“There is a big void in the market for JBP products,” said Peter Leech, Managing Director of The Partnering Group. “TPG’s new partnership with Symphony EYC purposely aims to meet that need with a new automated JBP Workbench that brings JBP into the reach of all retailers and significantly expands JBP practices within retail operations.”
